Connecting Communities Through Culture: Kalayaan 2026
PNAGA was honored to join the Filipino American community in celebrating the 128th Anniversary of Philippine Independence. The event brought together community leaders, volunteers, performing artists, sponsors, Filipino-American organizations, and families in a vibrant celebration of heritage, identity, and connection.
This year's theme, LUZVIMINDA, celebrated the three major island groups of the Philippines—Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. While each region has its own distinct cultures, traditions, languages, and cuisine, together they represent the rich diversity that defines the Filipino people.
At PNAGA, our mission extends beyond professional development and healthcare service. We are committed to fostering meaningful connections among Filipino-American nurses, families, and communities. Events like Kalayaan Atlanta remind us that cultural heritage is a powerful force for unity, belonging, and service.
A special congratulations to our amazing team, Carol Limmad, Carmencita Capiral Santiago, Myrna Gacusan, and Mary Ann Neely, for the creativity and dedication poured into creating the Kalayaan display exhibit.
Thank you all for representing PNAGA and our Filipino heritage so beautifully.
As we celebrate the achievements of the past and look toward the future, we remain grateful for the leaders, volunteers, and community members who continue to strengthen the bonds that connect us all.
Together, we honor our heritage. Together, we build community. Together, we move forward.
